Roelien studied design and illustration at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
She has worked as a print designer in the London fashion industry, as well as a graphic and layout designer for UK expat newspapers in Cape Town before becoming a freelancer. She currently lives in Taipei, Taiwan.
